The subject of this publication is the machinery: the lifts and their concessions, the water held for snowmaking, the refrigeration plant at La Plagne, the guides and the rescue service, the appellations that share the altitude with the pistes, and the 2030 Winter Games programme that has been laid over all of it.
The name on the masthead belonged to a commune until 2017, when six of them were merged into the present Annecy. It is kept here because the merger is part of the same story: what a local authority owns, what it operates, and what it decides it can no longer carry.
